It’s time for a bit of GREY!

Sometimes you need a bit of grey

It’s all there in black and white – the significance of grey and it’s importance as a very corporate colour. Grey or Gray… the colour remains the same – and could have 50 shades! But hush.. we don’t talk about them here!

Grey is the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is perceived as long-lasting, classic, and often as sleek or refined. It is a color that is dignified, conservative, and carrying authority.

Grey is controlled and inconspicuous and is a color of compromise, perhaps because it sits between the extremes of black and white. Grey is a perfect neutral, which is why designers often use it as a background color.* (Source below)

A bit of grey neutralises strong colours in a logo and always becomes the accommodating significant other in most logo designs and brand identity templates. By itself, grey in a corporate space represents an air of distinction, wisdom and sagacity. Grey stands for the intellect – remember the grey cells and grey matter? And it’s equivalent to silver for that matter so it comes across as expensive but not ostentatious! Clearly you can’t go wrong with grey! Here are three iconic brands who spell class, elegance and distinction with grey!  Agree? Let me know what you think.

And that’s it about grey! Tomorrow brighten up the world, wear Orange!
