My 30 Day Transformation

My 30 Day Transformation

If I signed up for the #30DayBloggingChallenge, conceived and run by Sarah and Kevin Arrow, I knew what I had signed up for. I knew it would challenge me. (I had done this twice before!). But the desire to learn something new (and there’s always something new!) was always there.

My 30 Day Transformation From weakling to warrior

If I started with trepidation, it was because I had taken this as a challenge earlier. It’s what I had set myself up for. I wanted to blog every day without fail. I didn’t want to miss a single day. No falling off the wagon. No excuses. No matter what. You know the phrase: come hell or high water? Yes. That’s what I thought! (Not anticipating both: hell and high water!)

My 30 Day Transformation : Made me stronger

They say what does not kill you makes you stronger. The 30 Day Blogging Challenge has definitely made me stronger. If there was pressure it was from me – because I had laid down the parameters myself. I wanted to discover if I had the prowess, the capability and the consistency to blog for 30 consecutive days. I realized I could. It stretched me (sometimes till midnight after a full day of work). It stretched and flexed my writing muscle. But I did it. Now my writing biceps are strong and built up, and the triceps are slowly showing up! I know I can blog when I HAVE to. If I have to. When I have to.

Since March was dedicated to Women

My 30 Day Transformation : Learning. Learning.
More learning. Yet more learning.

It’s not like I have not blogged before or I cannot write. But sometimes it helps to polish your skills. To upgrade yourself. To hone your art. And this is what the 2020 30-Day Blogging Challenge did for me. Reminded me of stuff I had forgotten. Gave me new ways to look at content. And of course the tools, links, the roadmaps! Where would I be without that kind of organization! Sarah and Kevin Arrow have just outdone themselves with the content on this on. (And yes I do have a fantastic binder to go back to in times of a blogger’s block!)

My 30 Day Transformation: Handled Curve Balls

One of the first things we did on the Challenge was to decide what we had to blog about. While I was not sure about the exact topic each day, I was sure that I’d talk about LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® and CROSS CULTURE. But things happened. Things happened first in China and then the world over. And finally the world and India came to a grinding halt. Yes COVID-19 had struck right in the middle of this. If there was an air of doom and gloom there was also this feeling of just wanting to give up.

And I almost gave up!

It is time to panic
Right at the start of the COVID19 Curve in India

There was another problem. The atmosphere changed. With COVID-19 looming large talking about what I did seemed oddly out of tune. Insensitive. That’s when I almost gave up.

Then I decided against it. I thought it made sense to continue going, but in a more meaningful and giving sort of way. I can safely say that if I had not been part of this challenge I’d have just thought of things, looked at the barrage on social media and succumbed to the air of despair. But the challenge was on. And that’s where I got hope. I started a series on Hope

My 30 Day Transformation : Beads of Hope

I wrote a post on hope. Started a group and overnight got about 100 people to sign up. The last 8-10 days have been blogging on hope and not giving up and the group is growing. And that’s where I am today. Suddenly managing a group of people who want to think and talk about positive things while the world is.

The Highlights

Blogged on 3 Main Topics: LEGO SERIOUS PLAY, Cross Culture, Women Power and moved to the fourth HOPE.

Handled the COVID19 Curveball with: BeadsOfHope FB Group

Came up with what could be cornerstone content: 7 questions on LEGO SERIOUS PLAY

Take the 30 Day Blogging Challenge

So if you are hesitating about doing this, DON’T.

It’s time to stop vacillating and take up this phenomenal Challenge.
It’s just the right mix of motivation, inspiration and challenge for you to get a sense of achievement.
Sarah and Kevin give you all the guides, tools and instructions, all the roadmaps, the how-toss and the whys and the why nots.
There couldn’t be a better way than doing it this way. Jump right in. And you will swim and you will be triumph. Oh yes and, if I can do it, you can too.
And you always have the Arrows to guide you! (Sarah and Kevin, you see what I did here?!)

Me?
I am ready for the next 30 day challenge.
And for my next 30 Day Transformation!

  1. Vaishakhi I couldn’t love this more. This is is such an inspiring, informative post. I love how you’ve woven the themes of your blogging and shared posts and I loved reading about your journey of transformation. I hadn’t seen it so clearly before but I get such inspiration seeing how others do things. I don’t do well when people tell me what I should do. But I love watching how others do things and taking what I love into my own work. I’m now excited to write about my own 30 day journey of transformation – and thanks to your post I have ideas on where to start.
Isn’t it great that you can learn whilst having fun. Thank you for all your wonderful posts in #MagicalMarch

  2. How lovely Melina! Thanks for your gracious comments now and through the challenge. I realise one of the things that we do in this challenge is learn from each other and push each other up. I know for a fact that I have been reading the other blogs posted here and seen tremendous value. ‘Learning while having fun’ pretty much sums it up. I think we should do a post on that 🙂 Indeed it’s a been a Mad but #MagicalMarch

  3. Hallo Vaishahki .. what a great end – and just the beginning of a new chapter! Really enjoyed reading this. Got inspiration from your round up and loved the links and positive thinking without it being a lecture. Just doing and being it. Not surprised you had people sign up. Way to go. Lastly, I loved the Lego! I played with this as a child and was fascinated with the way you are using it. So clever and smart and yes – ditto on the learning curve. Loved that you carried on – despite it all. FAB!

    1. Thanks so much Jacqueline! I mean to continue writing my posts. Especially because I realise that there is collective wisdom on the 30 day blogging challenge page itself and I know I’ve learnt a lot from you and others! We do support one another don’t we? Thanks again!

  4. Love your post and have loved them all, Vaishakhi! Your journey has brought such encouragement and inspiration to me and spurred me on when I’ve felt like I wanted to give up. Thank you!
As you’ve transformed what you share has transformed me and so many others.
I too am ready for another 30 Day Blogging Challenge and Transformation. I look forward to what your going to share!

    1. Thank you Cindy! Love the way you keep going inspite of difficult circumstances. When times are bad we can lift each other up as well as ourselves can’t we! I love that we are kindred spirits!
